Christian City Convalescent Center Union City, Georgia
With a vision to truly make Christian City a "city" to minister to both children and adults Christian City Convalescent Center was opened in 1978. This gave Christian City a means to help people needing convalescent care as well as children and retired individuals. The Convalescent Center is a five-story building with offices and the cafeteria on the first floor and the residents' rooms on the remaining floors. It has room for 200 residents needing skilled nursing care. Each residential floor has a nurse's station situated in the center with the residents' rooms on the perimeter so that nurse care is always close by. Within the Convalescent Center is a complete service for physical, occupational, and speech therapy to assist all residents with their particular needs. There is also a full-service pharmacy and beauty and barber shop that can be used by any of the residents of Christian City. An extended activity program provides a wide variety of crafts and entertainment.
